Event Description:
Jonathan Liebert, CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, will be speaking about the new BBB work certification program and how it can help consumers gain confidence in your business. Jeff Peterson, COO of the YMCA, will talk about why the YMCA is taking the pledge and how that impacts customer service positively. Jonathan will also discuss the upcoming Small Business Week and what that will look like for this year.

About the Speakers:

Jonathan Liebert: CEO/Executive Director - Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado & the Colorado Institute for Social Impact
Jonathan is a Colorado Springs native. He is a recognized Leader in Colorado by the Beanstalk Foundation, and a Rising Star Award recipient from the Colorado Springs Business Journal. During his tenure at the BBB, Jonathan has increased awareness of the importance of integrity and trust in business and has revitalized the BBB brand that has played a crucial role in Southern Colorado for 40 years.
Previously, Jonathan served as Vice President of AspenPointe Enterprises, where he spent 14 years building a stronger community through social enterprise, solving prevalent social issues, and serving disadvantaged populations. Jonathan is the national chair for the BBB4Good project which is currently mapping social impact businesses throughout North America. Jonathan is currently building the Colorado Institute for Social Impact which is an education-based social enterprise created to enhance and organize the emerging Fourth Sector of the economy, that fuels Purpose and Profit Driven businesses.
Jonathan is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and currently serves on the National board for the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust, the Business Advisory Committee for the Colorado Secretary of State, the Board of the Colorado Nonprofit Association and several other key community boards. Jonathan has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Health and Sciences Center.

Jeff Peterson: Sr. Vice President/COO - YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region
Peterson is a lifelong member of the YMCA. As a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, he grew up learning the Y’s values - caring, honesty, responsibility and respect - through his coaches and mentors.  Today he provides leadership to more than 1,000 staff and volunteers at eight family centers, 15 before-and-after school sites, four outdoor pools, three metro district recreation centers and a year-round resident camp and conference center at Camp Shady Brook – serving more than 115,000 people in the Pikes Peak Region.
During his nearly quarter century tenure, Peterson served as a Program Director (1990) and promoted into leadership positions, including District VP over five operations (2007). He relocated to Colorado Springs in 2014 with positive aspirations for impacting the community and working with leaders to improve the quality of life for all.
Peterson is well-regarded for his membership and active participation with the Chamber of Commerce, board service to Booster and Rotary Clubs, and volunteer work with homeless shelters and humane societies in the communities in which he has lived. Peterson holds a B.S. Degree in Physical Education from the University of Montevallo, Alabama.
